I’m doing a full body stretch just thinking about it.
I’ve really been trying to be what I need for myself-listen and hear what I need, pay attention to pains and sensations in the body, and on my self-love journey- be a refuge/safe place for me.
As I elongate my arms, my legs, my toes, my neck I know I want to move from inside to outside.
For me, winter is a tough time, but it can also be amazing.
See I love the sun, the heat, and getting out and about when it starts to warm up.
I feel myself ignite and kick into action as the days turn from cold to warm. My body, mind and spirit are ready to go.
So, what do I do during hibernation?
I rest, I think, I plan, I sit quietly, I access, I watch and then I leap into whatever it is that feels right.
Is this moving with the seasons, listening to my body or both?
Listening to your body is extremely important as you are going with the flow and not working against it.
I move when I feel the call, and I rest when I hear too.
My body has preferences for what it wants and needs to do during the various seasons as well.
The seasons dictate my schedule, what I’m open to doing, and how I navigate.
When I move from hibernation, not only do I get outside as often as possible, but I become more social. I open up the windows and welcome the outside inside. I become open to the evening hours instead of closing things down early.
What does your body, mind and spirit need?
Do you need to go inside and hibernate for a while, or do you need to get out and interact with the world?
Are you even listening to your own seasons?
Are you in the flow?
So many times, when things felt tough or challenging, that was simply a reason for me to try harder, work more, and push forward. Today, I’m much better at using resistance as a sign to access the situation and redirect if necessary. Being in the flow is moving along with my body, the seasons, or something that feels aligned.
Aligned…for me, momentum, my path, my purpose, in the flow, with ease, working together with the universe. Aligned feels right, at peace, being carried, supported, and as it should be. My shoulders come down, my back relaxes, my breathe slows, and I sink in.
